Proverbs 29:18 - “where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint…” In a more modern paraphrase, casting off restraint is described as people who “can’t see what God is doing” and consequently “stumble all over themselves.”

In almost every square foot of the public sector, biblical values and convictions are being pushed to the side, in favor of a new American ideal that champions secularism and humanism. Though “progress” is heralded as its aim and impulse, the disastrous result is fulfillment of Proverbs 29:18.
Consider a recent report from the Barna Research Group, “Fewer than half of all adults can name the four gospels. Many Christians cannot identify more than two or three of the disciples. 60% of Americans can’t name even five of the Ten Commandments. Over half of all churchgoers are unable to identify basic bible priorities, including the Great Commission.” Tragic? Yes. However, the question is, “What are we doing about this?”
